PRP Filler

PRP filler restores soft, natural volume using a gel made from your own plasma. No hyaluronic acid or synthetic filler is used. It may help hollows under the eyes, flattened cheeks and smile lines look fuller and fresher.

The basics

What is PRP?

PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. It is made from a small sample of your own blood. Platelets are tiny blood cells best known for helping blood clot, but they also carry growth factors, natural proteins that play a role in the body’s repair and in making new collagen.

To make PRP, your blood is spun in a centrifuge, which separates it into layers. The platelet-rich layer is collected for treatment. Nothing artificial is added.

Natural volume

What is PRP filler?

PRP filler is PRP that has been gently warmed until it turns into a soft gel. Placed under the skin, the gel adds natural volume right away, and the growth factors in PRP may support new collagen in the area over the following weeks.

Unlike synthetic fillers, PRP filler contains no hyaluronic acid or other foreign material. It is made only from you, so allergic reactions are unlikely. Results are softer and more gradual than synthetic fillers.

How PRP filler is made

Is it right for me?

This may suit you if…

Not suitable during pregnancy, with an active skin infection in the area, with a blood or platelet disorder, or with certain blood thinners. PRP filler gives subtle volume and is not designed for large changes such as lip augmentation or major contouring. Dr. Verma reviews your goals and history first.

Step by step

How PRP filler is done

Your PRP filler is prepared fresh, right in front of you, at the same visit.

1

History and exam

We review your health history and medications, and examine your face.

2

Your treatment plan

Together we decide where PRP filler will help most, such as under the eyes, the cheeks or smile lines.

3

Blood draw

A small amount of blood is drawn from your arm, like a routine lab test. Numbing cream is applied to the treatment areas.

4

Spinning in a centrifuge

Your blood is spun in a special centrifuge, which separates out the platelet-rich plasma (PRP).

5

Making the gel

The PRP is drawn off and warmed in a PRP warmer until it becomes a soft gel. This is done right in front of you.

6

Treatment

The PRP gel is placed in the planned areas with a fine needle or cannula.

7

Aftercare instructions

You go home with written post-procedure instructions to help you heal and protect your results.

8

Follow-up

We check your results at a follow-up visit and plan any touch-ups.

It varies. Many people see results for several months. Repeat treatments help maintain them.

Numbing is used, and most people feel only pressure and a brief sting.

Some bruising and swelling are common, especially under the eyes, and fade within days.

PRP is your own blood product. The centrifuge systems used to prepare it are FDA-cleared, but PRP for cosmetic use is not FDA-approved. Results vary and are not guaranteed.
